Why We Build on Performance Budgets, Not Just Frameworks

Choosing a framework matters less to real-world performance than setting hard limits on load time and bundle size from the start of a project.
We set a performance budget before writing any code — a maximum page weight and time-to-interactive target — and treat any feature that would blow past it as something to redesign, not something to ship and optimise later.
This matters especially for users on slower connections, which describes a meaningful share of the audience for any public-facing site we build in this region.
