Data Centre Standards for East Africa
10 September 2025 6 min read
Regional data centre facilities are increasingly expected to meet uptime, cooling and physical security standards comparable to established international benchmarks, as institutions become more cautious about where sensitive data physically resides.
Cooling design matters more in this climate than it does in the reference architectures most standards are written against, and physical security requirements often need to account for constraints those same standards don't anticipate.
We advise institutions evaluating regional facilities to request evidence against these standards directly rather than accepting marketing claims of 'enterprise-grade' infrastructure at face value.
